Author Biography

Leonard R. N. Ashley (PhD, Princeton), LHD (Columbia Theological, hon.) is a professor Emeritus of Brooklyn College of The City University of New York and most of his several dozen published works are academic, covering literature (literary biography, literary criticism, literary history) and linguistics (onomastics, geolinguistics) and popular culture and folklore, the occult, and military history, plus textbooks. However, he did publish when younger in 50 or 60 poetry magazines that "died to make verse free". His latest books suggest his wide range. They are Last Days (dealing with The Messiah, The Rapture, The Apocalypse and The Last Judgment), Mexico: The Smart Traveler's Guide to All the Names (for tourists that have no Spanish), and Nordic Folk Lore and Tradition (written with Ola J. Holten of Sweden). Some of his work has been translated into German, Dutch, and Portuguese but these little wordplays probably can't be.
