Author Biography

Don Zimmer's baseball career has spanned 53 years and seven decades. Zimmer went from a top prospect to a near-tragedy after a beaning in the minor leagues, but fought back to put together a prolific baseball career. He lives in Treasure Island, Florida Bill Madden is an awardwinning columnist with the New York Daily News who has covered baseball for 25 years. He is the co-author of Damned Yankees, a chronicle of the wild Yankees teams of the 1970s and '80s under the ownership of George Steinbrenner, and has known Zimmer for 20 years
