Filiberto Cruz Monroy estudié biología, pero me gusta contar historias: soy reportero. Comencé mi andadura periodística a los 18 años, transcribiendo artículos que mi papá, Filiberto Cruz Obregón, escribía para el maestro Huberto Batis y que se publicaban en el diario Unomásuno. Gracias a que mi padre no le gustaba redactar en la computadora, tuve la oportunidad de aprender, a teclazo limpio, cómo se “armaba” un texto. En el ámbito reporteril, di mis primeros pasos en la “policiaca” y pocos meses después me topé con mi primer caso de un asesino serial: el tristemente célebre Caníbal de la Guerrero.

I began my journalistic career at the age of 18, transcribing articles that my father, Filiberto Cruz Obregón, wrote for the teacher Huberto Batis and that were published in the newspaper Unomásuno. Thanks to the fact that my father did not like to write on the computer, I had the opportunity to learn, with a clean keystroke, how to "put together" a text. In the field of reporting, I took my first steps in the "police" and a few months later I came across my first case of a serial killer: the infamous Cannibal of the Guerrero.
