Author Biography

Thomas Bien, Ph.D., is a psychologist, in private practice in Albuquerque, NM, where he also teaches mindfulness and meditation. He is author of numerous books, including Mindful Recovery, Finding the Center Within and Mindful Therapy. Foreword writer Lama Surya Das is a lineage holder in the Dzogchen-tradition of Tibetan Buddhism residing in Cambridge, MA. He is founder of Dzogchen Center and author of many books. The Dalai Lama calls him "The American Lama."
