Author Biography

Evelyn Bookless grew up on a farm in the west of Ireland where she loved to make forts and play in the trees with her siblings. She is a nature lover, mother, teacher and writer. Evelyn spent 10 wonderful years living in Asia but was saddened to see beautiful rainforests cut down during her travels around the region. She recently moved to the Netherlands. Her first picture book, Captain Green and the Plastic Scene, also illustrated by Danny Deeptown, won a Northern Lights Book Award for Children's Environmental Fiction. Danny Deeptown found his love of drawing through hours of copying scientific illustrations from books of animals and dinosaurs. His artistic talent later led him to study Illustration in South Wales, UK. It was here he found a love for classic book illustration and the use of pen and ink. Today, Danny creates art for children and adults alike.
