Author Biography

Lisa Beringer McKissack is an author and university instructor. She enjoys singing, hiking, and gardening. In her life, she has canoed in Canada, walked on tundra, and been scared by a bear. Fredrick L. McKissack, Jr., has authored several books for children. His favorite biome is the rain forest. He works hard, but he still finds time to work with Lisa and play with their son, Mark.
