He was on the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Minnesota from 1970 until 1988. In 1989, he was appointed Professor and Chairman of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Portland State University, Portland, Oregon, a position he held until 1999, and where he is now Professor Emeritus. His research interests are in circuits and systems, analog integrated circuits and filters. He authored or co-authored some 150 publications and 10 invited chapters. He was co-editor of Modern Active Filter Design, IEEE Press, 1981, and is co-author of Analog Filters: Passive LC, Active RC and Switched Capacitor, Prentice-Hall, 1990, and Design of Analog Filters, Oxford University Press, 2001. Dr. Schaumann was an Associate Editor and the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems (CAS). He served on the Board of Governors of the CAS Society, was CAS Vice President for Publications in 1988/9, and in 1990 was President of the CAS Society. He received the Golden Jubilee Medal from the CAS Society and the Millennium Medal from the IEEE. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE.
Haiqiao Xiao received Ph.D from Portland State University in 2008, Dr. Eng. from Peking University in 1999, M.S. and B.S. from Northern Jiaotong University in 1995 and 1992, respectively. He has been working for Cypress Semiconductors and Teradyne Inc. for more than 4 years in the area of RF and high-speed analog circuit design. Previously he has been working for Beijing Open Lab (BOL), Inc. and Nohau Corp. from 1995 to 2000 in embedded systems. His research interests include analog/RF circuits for wired and wireless communications, high-frequency active filters and oscillators. He has 4 patents and 13 publications.
