Jose Alvarez-Junco is the author of several books on modern Spanish political history. Between 1992 and 2000 he held the Prince of the Asturias Chair in Spanish Culture and Civilization at Tufts University, and chaired the Iberian Study Group at the Center for European Affairs, Harvard University. He is currently Professor of Political History at the Universidad Complutense, Madrid
