Author Biography

Peter Gillman is one of Britain's leading mountaineering writers. Since then his writing has appeared in newspapers and magazines around the world. He has visited mountain ranges from the Himalayas to Patagonia, and conducts most of his own mountaineering in Scotland. In 1992 Peter and his wife, Leni Gillman, also an accomplished author, retraced much of the route of the first Everest expedition of 1921 through Tibet. In 1999 their biography of George Mallory, won the Boardman Tasker prize for mountain literature. They live in South London, England
