Author Biography

Timothy Anglin Burgard is the Ednah Root Curator of American Art, and Curator-in-Charge, American Art Department, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco Walter Hopps is Adjunct Senior Curator of Twentieth-Century Art at the Guggenheim Museum, and Curator of Twentieth-Century Art, The Menil Collection, Houston Bruce Nixon, an independent scholar, has written extensively about contemporary California artists. A former editor-in-chief of Artweek, he received his M.F.A. from Mills College. Robert Flynn Johnson is Curator-in-Charge, Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco Bruce Guenther is Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art and Chief Curator, Portland Art Museum, Portland, Oregon Anthony Torres is an art critic and independent curator. He holds Master of Arts degrees in Art Education from Ohio State University, and in the History of Consciousness from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His exhibition reviews and essays have appeared in Art Papers, Artweek, New Art Examiner, and other publications
