Whether trying to conjure up Alice's ghost by circling backward around her grave thirteen times, listening for a long-forgotten bell to ring out in the still of night at Litchfield Plantation, or driving down a hopeless deserted stretch of road in the pitch black hoping to catch a glimpse of a sorrowfully lost wedding party, many of the stories of ghost I have heard have little, if any, provable substance. There are a few, however, which are somewhat different. Some of the tales in this book have been witnessed by countless people. Other stories included are seldom told and new to many such as, Cherry Grove or Briarcliffe. The only thing that can be for sure is that there is indeed an unknown gray area surrounding some of the stories in this book.
