Summary

Second only to survivors of war and victims of rape, women who are severely assaulted by their partners are the trauma victims most likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Almost five million women a year are victims of domestic violence in North America, and 80 percent experience PTSD. In this step-by-step guide for recovery, domestic violence experts show how cognitive behavioural therapy can help women with PTSD overcome their trauma and regain control of their lives.
