Summary

This is an introductory level book about the planning of interior environments. It addresses both the contents of interior environments and the process of interior planning. The book presents topics such as the making of rooms, the design of effective spatial sequences, the functional relationships among project parts, the arrangement of furniture, planning effective circulation systems, making spaces accessible, and designing safe environments with efficient emergency egress systems. The book presents many examples of project parts, from individual rooms to entire projects and includes both good and not-so-good design solutions to help students understand the differences.
