Summary

Tom Kidd is a multi award-winning science fiction and fantasy artist, with more than twenty years' experience working as a freelance illustrator for book covers, magazines and illustrated books. His prolific and diverse career has also seen him produce design work for theme parks, entertainment products, films and figurines. Tom's publishing clients include William Morrow, Harper Collins, (for whom he produced the cover of HG Wells' 'War of the Worlds'), Ballantine Books, Del Rey Books, Doubleday Books, Penguin Books, Warner Books, MacMillan & Co., St. Martin's Press, Marvel Comics, Random House and Reader's Digest. In the design field he has worked for Walt Disney Feature Animation, Universal Studios, Landmark Entertainment, Franklin Mint, and International Robotics. He has exhibits of his work at the Canton Museum of Art, Delaware Art Museum, Society of Illustrators, Words & Pictures Museum, RSVP Dreams Competition, and NASA Future Art. Tom's illustrations have received high praise, and not only from his substantial collection of fans. He has assembled an impressive list of awards, including no fewer than six Chelsey awards: Body of Work 2003, Best Interior Illustration 2002 for War of the Worlds, Best b&w unpublished 2002, Best Cover Illustration 1993 and 1995, and Best Color Unpublished 1989, a Golden Pagoda Award in 1990, an Anlab Award: and four Hugo Award nominations. This is his second book but his first in colour. 'The Tom Kidd Sketchbook' published by Kitchen Sink Press in 1994 sold out of its print run. This project will showcase 150 of his most treasured colour works. Tom lives in Connecticut, USA.
