Author Biography

Julie A. Fast is a health writer and the operator of the popular Web site, www.bipolarhappens.com. She herself has bipolar disorder and is very active in speaking publicly about the illness. Her partner for ten years has bipolar disorder as well. She believes that with the right tools, bipolar disorder is a predictable and treatable illness. John D. Preston, PSYD., is a clinical psychologist and the author of over ten books, including You Can Beat Depression. He is on the faculty of the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine and Alliant International University, Sacramento campus. Preston has lectured widely in the U.S. and abroad. He is the recipient of the Mental Health Association's President's award.
