Emma Otheguy es la autora del libro bilingüe ilustrado Marti´s Song for Freedom basado en el poeta y héroe nacional cubano José Martí. Escribió también de la novela juvenil Silver Meadows Summer y los libros ilustrados Un trineo para Gabo (también disponible en inglés como A Sled for Gabo) y Martina has Too Many Tías.
Sara Palacios es la ilustradora de La joven aviadora (The Flying Girl) y muchos otros libros. Recibió el Premio Pura Belpré por su ilustración del libro Marisol McDonald no combina (Marisol McDonald Doesn´t Match). Nacida en México, Sara obtuvo su licenciatura y su maestría en la Academia de Artes de la Universidad de San Francisco, ciudad donde reside actualmente.
