Author Biography

Jan Richardson, Ph.D., is an educational consultant who travels throughout the United States training teachers and doing classroom demonstrations on guided reading. A former classroom teacher (she has taught in every grade, K-12), reading specialist, Reading RecoveryÆ teacher leader, and staff developer, Richardson is well-known for her hands-on, engaging presentations. Her passion is motivating, engaging, and accelerating all readers from emergent to fluent. Jan and her husband, Cecil, have seven sons-three wonderful and four “grand”!
