Summary
Author Biography
Signian McGeary, MS, OTR/L, has 25 years of adult physical disability practice following her degree in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University, Hamden, CT. Her transition into teaching has resulted in a MS in Adult Education. Her current clinical interests include a research study in hip fractures and international travel. She has studied Mandarin Chinese to prepare for educational clinical exchanges in China with the World Health Organization. She has taken students to numerous countries for nontraditional fieldwork and will teach OT in Africa next year. Her husband, two daughters, and son-in-law, as well as her grandchildren, share and support her love of international travel.
Lori S. Gilmore, MS, CSE, has a BS degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven; a teaching certificate in Special Education; and a MS in Language Arts from Central Connecticut State College, New Britain. She has completed an advanced graduate degree in Learning Disabilities at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. When she is not busy with work and school, she is active in community activities with her new family, including her three sons, Brent, Seth, and Blake. Lori also holds a teaching position (secondary) and enjoys quilt making but is much different from her sister, Karen Sladyk, in that she only has one cat.
Roseanna Tufano, MFT, OTR/L, has a BS degree in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University, Hamden, CT. She has worked in a variety of psychiatric settings since 1980 as a staff OT and consultant. She is presently assistant professor at Quinnipiac University where she teaches psychopathology, group dynamics, clinical media, and psychosocial aspects of physical disabilities. Roseanna completed her master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. She resides with her husband, Lou, and their two children, Carissa and Brett. They continue to be her source for love, inspiration, and fun.
