Summary

For courses in First-Year Composition - Rhetoric.

Helps students determine the most effective strategies, arrangements, and media for different communication contexts.

Revel Compose, Design, Advocate is an innovative, genre-based writing guide for composition courses that teaches students how to use both words and images, in writing and in speaking. To be truly successful communicators in today’s world, students need to be fluent in multiple modes of communication: written, visual, and oral. Providing instruction in, and samples from, diverse genres of writing, Compose, Design, Advocate also has an advocacy focus that encourages students to use communication to effect change in their lives and communities. A highly teachable learning resource that challenges and engages students, the authors offer a systematic approach for analyzing communication situations, with the concepts and vocabulary necessary to make thoughtful choices, helping students to gain confidence and fluency in communication. The 3rd Edition introduces new readings, visual samples, and learning outcomes, along with an enhanced focus on multimodality and rhetoric.

Revel is Pearson’s newest way of delivering our respected content. Fully digital and highly engaging, Revel replaces the textbook and gives students everything they need for the course. Informed by extensive research on how people read, think, and learn, Revel is an interactive learning environment that enables students to read, practice, and study in one continuous experience—for less than the cost of a traditional textbook.

NOTE: This Revel Combo Access pack includes a Revel access code plus a loose-leaf print reference (delivered by mail) to complement your Revel experience. In addition to this access code, you will need a course invite link, provided by your instructor, to register for and use Revel.
