Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower (1890 ¿1969) was a five-star general in the United States Army and the 34th President of the United States. During the Second World War, he served as Supreme Commander of the Allied forces. During his Presidency he oversaw the cease fire in the Korean conflict, dealt with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, strengthened the nuclear weapons program, encouraged the beginning of the Space Race, began the interstate highway system, and enlarged social security. The nine speeches included are from 1853 through 1961.
