Author Biography

Dr. Marvin M. Ellison teaches at Bangor Theological Seminary in Portland, Maine. He is a prominent Christian ethicist and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) Asghar Ali Engineer is one of the leading Muslim liberation theologians who heads a center for Islamic studies in Bombay, India. Farid Esack is a distinguished Muslim scholar and Commissioner for Gender Equality in the government of South Africa Dr. Ze'ev W. Falk died in Israel after finishing his contribution to this book and the volume is dedicated to his blessed memory. Daniel C. Maguire is a professor of religious ethics at Marquette University and is president of the Religious Consultation on Population, Reproductive Health, and Ethics Mutombo Nkulu-N'Sengha, a citizen of the Republic of the Congo, is completing his doctoral studies at Temple University and has already won a reputation as an expert on native African religions Tavivat Puntarigvivat teaches in the graduate program of Comparative Religion at Mhidol University in Thailand. His expertise is in Buddhism. John C. Raines teaches in the Department of Religion at Temple University and has done extensive work on interreligious dialogue. Dr. Anantanand Rambachan, a native of India, teaches at St. Olaf's College in Minnesota. Dr. Rambachan has lectured extensively and has done a television series on Hinduism for the BBC Christopher Ronwanien:te Jocks is a member of the Society for the Study of Native American Religious Traditions. Dr. Gerard S. Sloyan is a Catholic priest, who chaired the Religious Studies Department at the Catholic University of America and at Temple University Liu Xiaogan, an expert in Taoism, has published extensively in Chinese, Korean, and in English.
